HISTORY OF NyNA

The history of the International Congress on Analytical Nanoscience and Nanotechnology series of events is closely linked to the FQM-215 research group headed by Prof. Miguel Valcárcel. It was a meeting, organized in Córdoba (Spain) in 2007, fundamentally oriented towards the discussion, rather than conventional presentations in the form of Congresses /seminars. The objectives of this first edition of NyNA were summarized in four fundamental points:

Know the current situation of the use of related nanostructures directly with Chemistry and, with Analytical Chemistry.

Define future lines of action in this field of growing interest and impact.

Establish a stable and fruitful communication network between the groups interested parties for the exchange of information.

Seek synergies between Spanish research groups to address joint projects.

After the foundation of this workshop, NyNA was organized every year in different Spanish cities. From the V Workshop NyNA in 2011 onwards, the workshops series changed to biannual events. A particular focus lies in the participation of young researchers to this conference series who are supported by several fellowships. The symposium has gained an excellent reputation for its high scientific level with eminent invited speakers and is known for the many excellent contributions from the conference participants.
